   Elder Daniel F. Gant

Elder Daniel Gant, born September 17, 1955, is a native of Pensacola, Florida. He is the pastor of Mason Chapel Church of God in Christ in Augusta, Georgia. Since his ordination as Elder in 1985 by Bishop Levi Willis (3rd Jurisdiction, VA) he has been pastor of several churches and held numerous positions.

Aware at a very young age that God had called him into ministry, Elder Gant surrendered to the call in 1982. He has always had a particular concern and interest for the church. He firmly believes that the church has always been and shall forever be the answer all of society’s problems. For that reason he has worked untiringly in every facet, giving himself wholly for the care of the organization and its leaders. In whatever area he is asked to serve, he has a deep-rooted commitment to spark growth and bring new life. Having been born and reared in the Church of God in Christ, he has served in many positions, which include: Director of Christian Education, Associate Professor of C. H. Mason Bible College, Y.P.W.W. President and Vice-Chairman of the Elders Council. He currently serves as Treasurer for the Augusta District, Northern Georgia 2nd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction and Chairman of the Jurisdictional General Assembly.

Elder Gant earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Business Administration, from Florida A&M University in 1977. He then earned a Masters in Divinity from the Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia in 1990. Retiring in 1996 as a Major from the United States Armed Forces, he is currently employed with Savannah River College, where he serves as the Academic Dean.

Elder Gant feels a tremendous burden and call to his church community and to its residents. Concerned about the plight of the socially disadvantaged, he constantly seeks opportunities to minister life-survival skills.

He is married to Missionary Stephanie Gant and is the father of three daughters; Stacy, McKenzie, and Essence and one son, Samuel. He also has three granddaughters and three grandsons.

Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons that the believer has been provided. We are admonished in scripture to pray without ceasing (1Thessalonians 5:17-18). Paul encourages us that constant prayer is God’s will for us. Jesus encouraged His disciples in Luke 18:1, “men ought to always pray and not faint.” To faint literally means to be utterly spiritless, to be wearied out or exhausted; to turn coward or loose heart. In other words pray is the antidote for throwing in the towel. If the believer prays he/she will not become discourage to the point of quitting.

Remember be confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).
